Christian is setting up new businesses both in the digital space and medical technologies. These businesses are either data-driven, or build on strong IP. He also supports and advises several startups.

Research
Christian's research interests lie at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and economics. He is particularly interested in the role and mechanisms of intellectual property rights such as patents which help companies gain and maintain a competitive edge.

Christian is co-founder and managing director of TEDIRO, a healthcare robotics startup. He has a background in early stage venture capital, serving as an Investment Director with Technologiegründerfonds Sachsen (TGFS), a local 150m EUR fund for almost ten years. There, he invested in and advised 20 different startup companies from diverse industries, primarily in the software sector. Before, as an engineer, he worked in an early digitization project in Argentina, served as a business developer in a mechanical engineering firm in the US and as a consultant in pharmaceuticals in Argentina. For almost a decade, Christian was also heading an entrepreneurship competition for high-school students that he co-founded with college friends.
Christian holds a doctoral degree in management and information science (Dr. rer. pol.) from the University of Bremen and studied electrical engineering and management at the University of Minnesota and Ilmenau University of Technology from which he received his graduate degree (Dipl.-Wirtsch.-Ing.). Christian's academic endeavors were supported by the Foundation of German Business. Both during his studies and work, he acquired an exceptionally broad understanding of diverse industries and technologies. He is a member of the Academy of Management (AoM) and the German Academic Association for Business Research (VHB - TIE).
